The Miami Dolphins held the football for more than 40 minutes as they pulled into the lead in the AFC East with a 23-13 win over the New England Patriots.
The Dolphins, who have won five in a row, and the Patriots share 7-2 marks, but Miami holds the advantage courtesy of the head-to-head win. The two teams square off again in Week 13 at New England.
Miami had four running backs with at least 10 carries. Gary Davis led the Dolphins with 64 yards rushing.
Nat Moore caught his league-leading 7th touchdown pass to give Miami a 10-7 lead after the first quarter.
Steve Grogan became the first quarterback in the league to run for more than 100 yards in a game this season. The bulk of his yards came on a 72 yard touchdown run in the first quarter. New England's other score came on a Raymond Clayborn 90 yard kickoff return for a fourth quarter touchdown.
