Lions hold off Saints rally, improve to 2-0

The Detroit Lions are the only undefeated team left in the NFC Central as they held off the New Orleans Saints 17-14.

Greg Landry had a strong game for the Lions going 16 of 24 for 203 yards and 48 yard touchdown pass to Ray Jarvis, who finished with 90 yards receiving.

The Lions led 17-0 until late in the 3rd quarter when Chuck Muncie scored on a 51-yard TD run.

Archie Manning cut the deficit to three points with a 14-yard TD pass to John Gilliam with 4 minutes left.

But Saints kicker Rich Szaro missed a 31-yard field goal in the 4th quarter.
