Staubach does it all in Dallas win over New York

Roger Staubach threw for three scores and ran for another as the Dallas Cowboys routed the New York Giants 31-14 in the team's Texas Stadium opener.

Staubach, who completed 15 of 23 passes for 241 yards, threw a pair of 41 yard scoring strikes, one to Butch Johnson and one to Drew Pearson.

Staubach also gave the Giants their first score when he fumbled deep in New York territory and Brad Van Pelt scooped and scored.

Tony Dorsett added 94 yards rushing for Dallas, who improved to 2-0 on the young campaign.
